Who We Are

‘My Story or yours—-
Oh! That my little bundle of joy I told myself when I looked at my baby boy.couple of years rolled by happily then I realized children born along with him started calling their moms “Ma” but my son did not,when I use to go along with him in social gatherings I found that he is little scared and hiding behind me.That is when his doctor suggested my child could be on spectrum.My world came crashing what will I do how will we support my son with our careers ,desperation set in and frantically I looked for solutions.Running from one specialist to another trying this and that following suggestions trying to keep him engaged meaningfully.Being a parent of child  with developmental disability I realized that it’s a full time Job and beyond—
this is not just my story , it is of all the parents having differently abled child.
In respect of the tireless and continuous effort that we as parents put in to bring the best out of our ward we have named our parents group Nirantar Prayas.

Nirantar Prayas’ is the combined effort of like-minded parents to provide  a life full of dignity & respect for their children, captained by an experienced special Educator and  parent – Ms. Madhuchanda Mishra.
Today, developmental disabilities like autism are wide-spread (~1/59 children in USA suffer from autism). While our society is slowly awakening and taking inclusive initiatives, there is still a long way to cover to create acceptance, avenues and opportunities for differently-abled persons. It is heartening to see schools accepting many such children at the primary level, and opening up of early intervention and therapy centers almost in all major cities of India. However, there is a huge gap, especially for persons with disabilities, who due to communicative, behavioural, sensory or physical deficits need extra assistance to perform daily tasks or to ensure their safety and wellbeing.
 We got together under the able guidance of Ms. Mishra to create a professionally managed institution that not just provides for their own but any person with disability. Our aim is to work with children of over 12 years of age, teaching them vocations to lead their life with dignity, providing them a social fabric of acceptance, inclusion and affection. We also have started a residential setup so that these adults sustain their quality of life even after parents grow old or pass away.
Our team includes Special Educators, Physical trainers, Yoga Teachers, Computer teachers, Various Skill development trainers, Assistant staff and caregivers. We maintain a staff to student ratio of 1:3.
